Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains Administrator

Location: San Antonio, Dallas or Atlanta 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Great Plains Administrator

  • Supporting multiple GP environments, MEM and bridged tables, development and productions environments
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for optimizing current environment and configurations as well as business processes
  • Administer hot fixes, services packs, version upgrades, etc.
  • Own/Assist with development, implementation and maintenance of queries, dashboards and reports, Customization & Integration tools, Modified Forms & reports, Extender, SSRS, and Smart List Builder
  • Administer security roles for Pivot’s GP environment
  • Optimize, implement, document and train colleagues on standard operating procedures for GP administration activities
  • Provide input and advice regarding GP capabilities and functionality
  • Create documentation: policies, procedures, workflows and user guides
  • Assist Finance & Accounting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Troubleshooting GP user issues, provide help-desk end-user support for GP and other Microsoft Dynamics GP connected applications as needed
  • Work with database administrators to develop and maintain GP database, backup & recovery, and Business Continuity procedures

Key Skills, Knowledge, Aptitudes & Behaviors:

  • 4 years MS Dynamics GP system architecture and design, and in-depth knowledge of SQL table structures
  • Requires demonstration of proficiency in Great Plains System Administration and Support
  • Experience with FastPath is highly desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance and working knowledge of accounting principles and financial characteristics of ERP systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Dynamics GP core financial modules
  • Microsoft SQL Server Database administration, maintenance, upgrades, backup and recovery experience
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) development experience
  • Management Reporter and FRx experience desired
  • SQL queries and stored procedures experience
  • MEM and Bridged entity table experience strongly desired
  • Able to communicate at technical and end user level required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible, integrity and commitment to quality
  • May be called upon to perform production support or system rollouts during after-hours and weekends
